Toronto Toros T-shirt WHA

Toronto Toros

After only one season, the Ottawa Nationals relocated to Toronto in 1973 for the??second season of the??World Hockey Association (WHA). As the Toronto Toros they found success on the ice and at the gate, making the playofffs in their first two seasons in their new home. They drew a respectable 10,000 fans a game in the shadow of the National Hockey League's Maple Leaf's. However, the Toros played most of their home games in the Leaf's building and were subject to an oppressive lease. In 1976, owner John Bassett moved the club to Birmingham where they became the Bulls.
